What Is Next?

What is next? I seem to be driven by those words. I am always completing one task and looking for something else to do. I need the challenge because it keeps me moving forward. It would be kind of scary to me if I reach a point when there is nothing else to do. I need to keep looking around the corner for more answers to life's problems. Looking around the corner gives me hope that there will be more to learn and more to do.
When I stop looking and learning if feels to me like I stop living and begin to just exist. I wonder through life without motivation or a direction. For my own sake, I must continue to search and have hope that there is a solution to the question that my mind needs. There is a downside to me in doing this. When I find my answer and then I need to know, "What is next?" A cycle that I do not really know if I want it to end.

Where Does Our Mind Dwell?

Where does our mind dwell? Does it dwell in the light with joy and happiness or live in the dark with pain and sorrow. It could be in a state of seriousness or a state of amusement. Our mind can be rooted in the real world or stuck in a imaginary one. One day we could be walking around confused and then the next day with clarity. I find my mind to be a curious thing because it can dwell in many different ways.

What I Seem to Want

What I seem to want for myself is to live in a peaceful world. I want understanding to prevail over misunderstanding. I want each of us to see each other's point of view. I want to see a balance of mercy and justice. I think we need more kindness and compassion over hate and violence. I want to live in a world that is in agreement rather than in conflict. What I seem to want is to have a peaceful rest instead of worrying about what tomorrow will bring.

Our Thoughts

Our thoughts are colliding and fighting for space to be alive. Like plants in a jungle, they fight to push up and out of the crowd to gain life. Some stop growing while others push out and flourish.

Never Does a Dime Equal A Dollar

I am given a dime and the world expects back a dollar. I have grown to be in debt because dimes I have but dollars I am lacking. Ten dimes to a dollar you may say but I cannot compensate when every dime is equal to a dollar of debt.
Why do they only give me a dimes worth and they charge me a dollar? It is so unfair.

A Theory

A man's or a woman's heart that is filled with love. He or she will be more willing to give love.
A man or woman whose heart is empty. He or she will be looking for something to fill it.

Compliment

How long has it been since you were complimented? For me, it was the last time I was at my doctor's appointment. He told me that I was looking good. I thought to myself, "Wow a compliment".
I never really missed a compliment until I have been given one because it kind of makes you feel good about yourself.
I have been given compliments before like nice shoes, nice shirt, and nice haircut. I have also received a compliment that you look younger than your age. What I am trying to say is that compliments make you feel good. They will make your day a little bit brighter. So I say compliments are good to receive and a good thing to give to others. Why not brighten another person's day with your compliment? They could be like me never missing a compliment until they get one.

What is a Full Life?

What is a full life? Some say having a family and friends, others might say traveling and seeing the world. Maybe some people will say being successful and making lots of money. Having a full life can mean many different things to different people. My definition of having a full life is doing your best with the situation that life has handed to you.
Some people might have a physical or mental disability. Some maybe living in an impoverished situation but yet they are doing the best that they can. I cannot judge them and say they are not living a full life. When you are doing the best that you can and are doing more good than bad. Then I think you are doing well in life. There are people in the world who have lost hope and in their anger, they are not living a full life but are destroying themselves and others. So I say if you still have hope and doing your best with the situation that life has handed to you. You are on the right road to a full life.

Is Life a Classroom?

I have asked myself many times what is my purpose in life? And still, I do not really know. I believe that I should be learning something. Is life trying to teach me something and I am failing to understand? It makes me think that I have been in a classroom my entire life.
Life is easy when nothing goes wrong. However, when problems arise they need to be solved. It seems to me that life is challenging me by putting one obstacle after another on my path. A lesson to be learned for each obstacle. A problem is like a weight being put on my shoulders to solve in order for me to grow stronger. So I was thinking if I was born into unlimited wealth the only thing that I would probably be learning is that everything has a price. I think life is much more than having a lot of money. I think life's spiritual nature equals its physical nature and there is much more there than our eyes can see.
I do wish my life to an easy and happy one but I do not think that life was meant to give me endless pleasure. Life puts us through tests and once we learn a lesson another problem arises that we must solve. Life is about growth. It wants us to grow strong mentally, physically and spiritually. It puts challenges in front of us in order for us to solve it and learn something from it. And when we reach the end of our life, the classroom learning will be over and it will be time for us to go home.

My Favorite Things

I was thinking about the Mary Poppins song, "My Favorite Things".
She sings, "When the dog bites, When the bee stings, When I feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don't feel so bad." This is a very good idea. When we have a hurtful experience, we can try to lessen the hurt by thinking about something that makes us feel good. Why prolonged the sadness if we don't have to.
Your favorite things can be anything you want it to be. Think about the things that make you happy. There is so much sadness in the world that we should take a little time for ourselves and think about the things that make us smile. Whatever we think about is how we feel, so I say let's think about our favorite things so as to feel better and hurt less.

The Undeniable Truths

People have many truths and opinions based upon their own way of looking at things. Our views are influenced by the way we were taught. These types of views can change throughout our lives. What we thought was true when we were young is different from what we know now. Our beliefs can change however there are some truths that are undeniable and cannot change. Like that we all need shelter, food, and water. We need good health, clothing, and a safe place to live. We need the opportunity to be who we were meant to be. We need happiness over sadness, love over hate, and peace over violence.
Some truths can change but the undeniable truths cannot. They are true to every one of us. We need them to live and achieve some sort of happiness in our lives. I was thinking that instead of looking at our differences, we could concentrate on what unites us as one people. We could work together in giving everyone what they need to live. We could develop some sort of tunnel vision and look pass our national boundaries, religion, and prejudices and help everyone to attain their basic needs. If we look at the undeniable truths that unite us and help each other to attain them, I think our world would be a better place to live.
